CM concedes difficulties in running coalition Govt
Manipur's issues cannot be resolved in shillong, only BJP can save Manipur: Biren

Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, December 04 2021: While conceding that running a coalition government is complex and difficult, chief minister N Biren said issues concerning Manipur cannot be resolved with a trip to Shillong, with apparent reference to the Conrad Sangma-led NPP.

Speaking at a political conference organised by Uripok BJP Mandal at United Friends Library and Club playground on Saturday, CM Biren contended that the present coalition government had just come to power when it came face-to-face with a political corona.

After two years, the real corona virus arrived in the form of a pandemic, which, in truth, had a more cooling effect.

It is an everyday effort to "remove" him from the post of CM.

However, with the blessing of the people, he has been able to do what he wanted to do for the state, including installations of oxygen plants in the hill districts.

Urging all not to take the upcoming election lightly, the CM stressed the need for the presence of the political party which stood still for the state during the finalisation process of the Naga peace talks.

Issues concerning Manipur cannot be resolved with a trip to Shillong.

Only the political party which understands that the state's issue should be discussed in Delhi or after being summoned to Delhi, should be elected.

"Manipur is a state with a history spanning thousands of years.

However, the state has suffered terribly for the last 70 years and pushed to the brink of extinction due to failure of considering the elections carefully and electing incompetent representatives /political parties.

Fortunately, the mothers of the state can now lie down peacefully on their pillows after the BJP government came to power.

The welfare and safety of the people is what politics is all about, not meting out violence upon the people or creating disharmony," he said.

Biren then commented on the huge number of intending candidates pursuing BJP tickets, stating that it is due to the BJP government's good governance and firm motive towards development.

However, if the candidates were to join another party just because they failed to get the party tickets, it would be difficult to hold onto a united India.

As sugh, he stated that he would extend full support to the candidate who receives the party ticket based on the survey of the parliamentary board, while urging the unselected candidates not to resent the decision.

He also urged the candidates not to try to affect the decision by visiting Shillong, as PM Modi and Amit Shah have made all concrete decisions in this regard.

Regarding Uripok AC, the CM informed that necessary processes have been completed for making Lamphelpat into a proper water body.

For this, 475 acres of land have been acquired and Rs 22 crore sanctioned, he added.

In her speech, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda appealed to the people of Uripok A to vote for a BJP MLA so as to bring about an absolute majority BJP government instead of a coalition and ensure further development of the state.

The conference was also attended by BJP intending candidates in Uripok AC.

CM Biren also attended another political conference organised by Keishamthong AC BJP Mandal in connection with the upcoming Assembly election at Pishum Ningom Leirak Lampak on Saturday.

In his address, Biren contended that BJP is the only political party which can save Manipur.

No other political party has taken the development and welfare of Manipur seriously over the last 70 years like BJP has done.

He then urged all concerned to practice politics sincerely and refrain from previous trend of turn-coating, as it will only lead to the return of the time when governments end easily.

The CM continued that people should not forget how PM Naren-dra Modi and union minister Amit Shah saw to the implementation of ILPS in the state.

The historical Mt Harriet was renamed as Mt Manipur, which clearly shows the centre's deep consideration of the people of the state.

As such, the state is seeing a rise in number of BJP supporters, who are satisfied with the works undertaken by the party in the last 4 years.

Mentioning about the Health for All programme, Biren informed that the poor can now have access to healthcare facilities right at their doorsteps, along with free medicines.

Thus, he urged all to re-elect the BJP government, which has eliminated all differences between the hills and the valley, and Imphal and rural area, while guiding the state towards development.

The conference was also attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, VP N Nimbus and intending candidates in Keishamthong AC .
