Imphal, December 04 2021:
Senior Citizens for Heirok convener M Rajmohon has appealed to chief minister N Biren Singh, who is also holding the home portfolio, to unmask the black dressed men of Heirok, who are creating trouble and threatening people, within December 15 .
Talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Saturday, M Rajmohon said that Senior Citizens for Heirok has been trying to find out identity of the hoodlums attired in dark clothes and why and how they emerged in Heirok as also their objective but unable to do so till date.
Heirok being part of the state having necessary laws and legislations, people of the constituency have high hope that the government would do the needful as per law against the hoodlums.
However, the black dressed masked men had been torching and damaging several houses, opening fire in residential areas and harassing women and children since October 18.After witnessing the excessive and violent activities of the black dressed masked men like torching houses, looting jewellery and firing, many children of Heirok are suffering from psychiatric problem and taking shelter at safer places after leaving Heirok.
Senior Citizens for Heirok had hoped that government and its security agencies deployed in Heirok would identify and take action against the black dressed men but inaction of the government and authority concerned till date has dashed hope of senior citizens, he said and urged chief minister N Biren Singh to pay special attention on the matter and instruct home department to unmask the black dressed men by December 15.Apart from SPO and police station, one BSF post is currently stationed at Heirok but it is quite surprising that government security agencies are still unable to have slightest clue about the black dressed men and their objective, Rajmohon said, adding that there is report of the black dressed men armed with sophisticated weapons roaming around after dusk.
