Imphal, December 04 2021:
Political activist Sapam Kangleipal distributed handlooms to economically underprivileged women folks in Sekta village under Lamlai assembly constituency on Saturday.
Lamlai Mapari Thougal Lup secretary Laishram Bobisana informed in a statement that with a target of covering 100 beneficiaries, Kangleipal started distribution of handlooms to beneficiaries from poor families in Sekta village since the recent Ningol Chakkouba festival.
The initiative was taken up especially for Sekta village with the objective to bring developmental change.
The statement also expressed concern over the emerging trend of politics of fooling the public at the times of election while stressing the need for changing the mindset of candidates regarding such low level politics.
An ideal candidate should have the sense of patriotism.
Unfortunately, organising feasts, distributing cash and lying to the public are taking centre stage in the state.
They are taking advantage of the poor financial status of the voters.
It is time to choose the right candidate, who can stand for the public and their rights.
The public should not trade their votes for some mere cash and favours.
Instead, they should contribute in improving the socio-economic conditions of every individual and to bring infrastructure development in Lamlai side by supporting Sapam Kangleipal in the forthcoming state assembly election, Bobisana said.
