Ukhrul, December 04 2021:
As Christmas festival is fast approaching, UADC caretaker chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung and his family organised advent Christmas at his official quarters at Phungreitang in Ukhrul town on Saturday.
As part of the celebration, joyous old-time Christmas melodies were sung along with Gospel message, prayer and festive feast.
"Thousands of years ago, when baby Christ was born there was no place for him in the big city of Bethlehem.
That was highly regrettable.
Let this not happen in Ukhrul.
With the celebration of advent Christmas, let's all prepare a room for him in our heart this coming Christmas," said Ringui Long Ukhrul (RLU) Chaplain NK Maiyo.
He also said that everyone who has Christ in their heart will prosper in life.
"All good things should come from the Almighty," he said.
"Advent means coming' and with this Advent celebration, let's all wait for the coming of our Saviour Christ," Maiyo said.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Yaronsho Ngalung informed that he and his family wished to spread the joyous message of Christmas by bringing together colleagues and friends in a union of prayer and Christmas songs.
"For the last two years, Covid pandemic had restricted our union socially and spiritually.
Let's unwind with the pleasant festive melodies with prayer.
Wishing a merry Christmas 2021 to all, Dr Ngalung also hoped that every believer has a blessed time throughout this festive season.
Former ADC member Vareishang HA called the holiday season as a time to give thanks to God for giving us His begotten son Jesus Christ to redeem the sin-laden humanity.
"This is also a time for each one of us to consolidate spirituality," he said.
In his speech, NPF Chingai unit president Vareishang Zingkhai called Christmas as the celebration of birth of Christ, the Prince of peace.
"Without God in our life, there won't be peace.
It's the most honoured festival for the believers.
Let this year's Christmas be not of physical merriment but of spiritual contentment," he exhorted.
Popular singers Yursari Kasom-woshi and Thotsemphy performed rendition of Christmas melodies much to the delight of the attendees.
