CADA destroys IMFL worth Rs 2 lakh

Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) members on Saturday seized huge quantity of IMFL worth approximately Rs 2 lakh from one Ningombam Binoy Singh (40) of Soibam Leikai Meri Leirak which were then destroyed in the area itself.
In a release, information and publicity secretary Khundongbam Anand informed that the seized IMFL included Signature Premier full (two bottles); Signature full (three); Sterling Reserve full (seven); AC Black full (two); AC Blue full (eight); Royal Stag full (three); Mc Dowell full (five); Royal Green full (one); Old Monk full (two); Blenders Pride full (three); Carlo Rosie full (seven); Magic Moments full (three); B&G red wine (one); Mc Dowell half (30); Mc Dowell quarter (10); OC Blue half (15); AC Blue half (four); Old Monk half (nine); Old Monk quarter (two); Blenders Pride half (10); Sojuhalf (30); Diablo beer (208); Tuborgbeer (92); Kingfisher beer (l6); Corona Extra beer (15); Knox beer (19); Savage beer (24) and Breezer beer (five bottles).
While noting that there hasbeen significant rise in consumption of liquor with the coming of 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election as people congregate in the name of election meeting, the secretary maintained'that abundant availability of liquor has been causing many unwanted incidents.
Despite this, the government has remained as mute spectator and not taken any stepsto stop selling of alcohol.
Instead of saving life of people by strictly enforcing ban on alcohol, the government is indulging in false campaigns which do not have any future, the CADA secretary alleged and further accused the government of abetting liquor consumption in the state by shifting the liquor warehouses to the state which used to be earlier located in Dimapur.
