MLA escort party accused of thrashing youths

Khangshim Youth Club (KYC) has vehemently condemned the merciless thrashing of two youths, who were passing along the Khangshim village road, allegedly by escort members of MLA Mayan-glambam Rameshwar Singh without any reasons on the night of December 2 .
A released issued jointly by KYC president Mowarson Ronglo, general secretary George Khaling and cultural secretary K Koshelshang said that the brutal beating of the two youths by the escort party of the MLA under heavy influence of alcohol, and further threatening the villagers, who came out on hearing the commotion and screams of the victims, with service weapons shocked the villagers and created sense of insecurity.
Abuses such as these are unacceptable and shall not be tolerated by any community, the release affirmed.
Further charging the inebriated security personnel of using of communally expletives while thrashing the two victims, they said that threatening the villagers have created deep communal discord and disturbed the peace and tranquillity of the village.
The release advised the security personnel that such brutality should not be repeated in the future to avoid any unwanted incident, and that the victims should be duly compensated.
