State logs one death, 31 new eases

Imphal, December 04 2021:
The state on Saturday reported one death case and 31 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1566 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 1.98 per cent against Friday's 1.56 per cent.
The lone death case was a resident of Imphal East district.
This took the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 in the state to 1980 .
The victim had received both doses of Covid vaccine.
Meanwhile, the active caseload came down to 362 out of which only 66 (18.23 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported fresh Covid cases on Saturday with Imphal West seeing tne hignest cases at 15.In terms of positivity rate, Kakching district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 7.3 per cent while Senapati district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.5 per cent.
So far, the state has recorded 95,928 positive cases and 1607 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic, out of which 211 new cases and 11 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
A total of 123 new positive cases and four fatalities have been reported during the current month.
According to official reports, all the 31 new positive cases (16 male & 15 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (6), JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (23) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (10), Imphal West (15), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (3) and Senapati (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 34 patients were discharged from home isolation (1), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (30) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has 1,25,328 general population - 1,20,897 and CAPF personnel - 4,431) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,985 (general population - 1,18,605 and CAPF personnel - 4,380) and number of active cases is 362 (general population - 316 and CAPF personnel - 46) .
The recovery rate is 98.13 per cent.
A total of 493 D-type and 147 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 8913 vaccine doses were administered on Friday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,88,338 which include 8,96,497 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,929), Imphal East (27,824), Thoubal (9480), Churachandpur (10,186), Kangpokpi (2787), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9209), Senapati (2244), Ukhrul (2996), Kakching (6441), Chandel(2356), Noney (1074), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (662), Imphal East (474), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,389 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,745 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,59,431 tests per million population against the national average of 4,61,688 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1566 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.98 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.79 per cent.
