Pollution Control day observed at Maring village

Laipharok Maring Village Authority, Napui-ya Yinglam and Youth Club jointly observed National Pollution Control Day 2021 at the village community hall on Friday.
Maring Village Authority chairman Chingkha Yaima Maring and secretary W James spoke in details about factors leading to degradation of environmental condition in Laipharol Maring village area.
Moreover, stone crusher, broiler farms and coal hot mixed factories in the village were also inspected as a part of the observance.
According to a release issued jointly by chairman Chingkha Yaima Maring and secretary W James, no factories or farms could be set up in the village in violation of the guidelines laid down by National Pollution Control Board.
Noting that most of the stone crushers and coal hot mixed plants in the village are being run in violation of the guidelines, the joint release informed that resolutions have been adopted to restrict operation of the factories that violate NPCB guidelines until an understanding is reached.
Actions will also be taken up against Broiler farms if the local environment is compromised due to improper disposal of perished chickens, the joint release cautioned.
The joint release further urged the departments concerned to look into the matter.
