Imphal, July 31 2026:
Uripok Apunba Lup (UAL) and Uripok Nupi Apunba Lup (UNAL) today staged a sit-in protest at the JNIMS mortuary, where the mortal remains of the six Naga men have been kept since June 10 .
During the demonstration, representatives of the two organisations expressed dissatisfaction over the progress of the investigation and the initiatives taken so far by both the Central and the State Governments.
They stated that while certain actions have reportedly been initiated by the investigating agencies, the progress has not met the expectations of the bereaved families and the public.
Justice must be delivered without further delay, they added.
The protesters further stated that the six Naga men were abducted in broad daylight and killed in cold blood.
Noting that Naga civil society organisations and the villagers of Konsakhul have alleged the involvement of the chief of Leilon Vaiphei and members of KNF-P in the incident, they urged the investigating agencies to conduct a thorough, impartial and time-bound investigation into all allegations and ensure that every person found responsible is brought to justice.
They further appealed to both the Central and the State Governments to intensify their efforts to ensure justice for the victims and their families at the earliest.
