State logs 14 new cases, zero death

Imphal, March 12 2022:
Government bulletins on Saturday reported only 14 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1104 samples tested, thus, registering 1.27 per cent positivity rate against 1.70 per cent recorded on Friday.
No death case was reported on Saturday and the toll stands at 2116 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 192 vaccinated persons of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 20 patients were discharged from home isolation (10), RIMS (5), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (4) .
The active case came down to 93 out of which 36 (38.71 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 290 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 119 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only seven reported fresh Covid cases on Saturday.
So far, the state has recorded 11,188 positive cases and 114 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 193 new positive cases and 4 fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 88 and 2 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 14 new cases (5 male & 9 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (13).The positive cases are from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (2) Thoubal (2), Churachandpur (1), Kamjong (2), Senapati (4) and Ukhrul (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,976 (general population - 1,31,962 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,767 (general population -1,29,764 and CAPF personnel - 5,003) and number of active cases is 93 (general population - 89 and CAPF personnel - 4) .
The recovery rate is 98.39 per cent.
A total of 223 D-type and 65 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 4141 vaccine doses were administered on Friday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people is 15,21,590, out of which 11,63,358 had received second doses and 62,792 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,672), Imphal East (30,406), Thoubal (10,135), Churachandpur (11,044), Kangpokpi (3126), Tamenglong (3471), Bishnupur (9819), Senapati (2486), Ukhrul (3265), Kakching (6879), Chandel (2706), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1198), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (703), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,143 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,642 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,11,585 tests per million population against the national average of 5,54,392 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1104 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.27 per cent while the cumulative rate stands at 8.63 per cent.
