Urging the masses to keep Imphal city clean, Chief Secretary O Nabakishore said the road expansion works from Malom to Keishampat junction are nearing completion.
In some areas, black topping works have also began, he stated.
He further appealed to the residents of the houses alongside the said road to clear the piles of sand and pebbles heaped on the roadsides and also to complete repair works of the structures facing the road.
The State Government had provided enough compensation to the affected land owners for the purpose, the Chief Secretary added.
This step by the State Government is an attempt to present Manipur in more respectable light to the visiting tourists in the upcoming Sangai Festival, 2015 .
