GR organises medical camp
A medical camp was organised by 2/5 Gorkha Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division at Lower Ngariyan under Bishnupur PS yesterday.
The camp was headed by the unit Medical Officer and helped by Nursing Assistants to address health as well as hygiene problems.
416 villagers of Chiling Khol, Parengba, Gysemlong, Chaiba, Lower Ngariyan, Upper Ngariyan, Zoujangtek, Joupi and Khoirok availed free consultation and medicines during the camp.
AR reaches out to people
In its effort to reach remote parts of Chandel district, 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a medical camp at Khudengthabi village today.
Post monsoon related ailments and its cure, health and hygiene and various methods for consuming clean water were the prime objective covered by Senior Medical Officer.
Health check up by medical officer and his team and distribution of medicines to the affected individuals free of cost were part of ongoing medical drive, according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S) .
RIMS
RIMS Hospital, Imphal and Dental College, RIMS will remain open on second Saturday ie November 14, 2015 in public interest, according to a statement issued by the RIMS authority.
It also informed Hospital and Dental College staff to attend office on the day.
Fish fair
The Dept of Fisheries, Manipur will organise the annual fish fair cum fish crop competition on Nov 12 at 12.30 pm at Inter State Bus Terminus, Khuman Lampak complex on the eve of Ningol Chakkouba festival.
UNLF refutes
The proscribed UNLF, through a press release issued by its department of publicity director M Sak-hen, has refuted any connection whatsoever between the outfit and Salam Ichan alias Abem d/o Salam Deva of Keibul Forest Mamang who was reportedly arrested on the charge of being a sympathiser of UNLF by a combined team of commandos and 6 AR from Nganukon area.
Tobacco products seized
A huge consignment of banned tobacco products worth about Rs 63,000 was disposed off by setting them ablaze at Dolenbung village, Chandel on Friday under the supervision of Food Safety Officer, Elvison Thouman, a statement informed.
The tobacco products were seized from one Sanjay Kumar, s/o Suresh Kumar of Minuthong Hapta Telipati, by the 20 Assam Rifles of Bongyang post on October 21 .
Ningol Chakkouba celebrated
An early celebration of Ningol Chakkouba was seen at Jiribam sub-division today organised by Jiribam police station with a feast for all the 'Ningols' of different community residing in the sub-division, our correspondent reports.
The celebration was attended by women leaders of different communities under Jiribam.
