Bureau Chief Meisnam Karnajit awarded

Hueiyen Lanpao's Bureau Chief Meisnam Karnajit was one of the three journalists who were awarded with Chingsubam Akaba Memorial Journalist Awards 2014-15 on Monday.
The awards were distributed on the occasion of the 71st birth anniversary of Chingsubam Akaba organised by Thoihi Village Authority, Luchingpurel Chingsubam Akaba Ningsing Lup
(LUCANIL) and Management Board of Pandam at Thoihi village of Ukhrul District.
The Reporters Award for Print Media for Promotion of Work Culture, Luchingpurel Chingsubam Akaba Ningsing Journalist Award 2014-15 was given to Meisnam Karnajit of Hueiyen Lanpao.

Karnajit was born to Meisnam Ibotombi and Meisnam ongbi Ramani of Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai.
Reporters Award for Electronic Media for Promotion of Work Culture was given to Laishram Pritam of ISTV Network while Poknapham Editor A Robindro Sharma was honoured with the Editorial Award which carried an incentive of Rs 20,000, a memento and a certificate while the Reporters award carried Rs 10,000, a memento and a certificate.
Attending the function as Chief Guest, titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba called on the people of the State to resolve all differences.
He said there was a need to sit across the table and discuss on strengthening ties between the hills and the valley.
"Today's generation need to think for the future", said Leishemba Sanajaoba and urged all to follow the path of late Chingsubam Akaba and Suisha to bring integrity in Manipur.
Attending the function as Guest of Honour, R Suisha Trust Chairman Mathankui Zimik said that Akaba and Suisha were extra-ordinary persons.
Though both the late leaders led different lives, their ideologies and philosophies of uniting the hills and the valley people were the same.
Former Minister RV Mingthing, retired IPS P Dhanakumar, Tangkhul-Naga Wungnaolong President Suiten Ruhing, Manipur State Shumang Leela Council Lifetime Secretary Sougrakpam Hemanta, social activist T Robindro attended the function as Guests of Honour.
Former pastor M Phaniphang, former Manipur District Council RS Yarshang, Thoihi Village Authority headman Ng Khating, Pandam Executive Editor Nameijam Tomba also attended the function.
Floral tributes were paid to the photograph of Chingsubam Akaba and a calendar of Pandam was also released during the function.
