Turn out pleases Irom Sharmila

Irom Chanu Sharmila has today expressed satisfaction with the turnout of a group of people to show solidarity when she was produced before the Court for a case hearing.
Although Sharmila was brought to the Court at around 11.20 am by the Jail authority, she was kept waiting for about three hours as the Judge who is taking charge after the CJM Imphal West RK Memcha was promoted to Member Secretary, MSLSA some days back, was out of station.
The proceedings began only after the JMIC Imphal West-I, Alek Muivah arrived at the Cheirap Court complex.
The next hearing of the case will be held on November 23 .
Speaking to media persons after she was brought out from the Court, Sharmila said that she was happy to see a large number of people from various organizations coming to the Court complex to show solidarity and support to her struggle.
She also expressed her gratitude to the group of Zeliangrong womenfolk who came to the Court complex in support of her and presented their traditional shawl to her.
Sharmila also said that one person had mentioned to her that she will succeed when all the sections, both from the hills and valley, extend support to her struggle.
It may be mentioned that during her last Court appearance, Sharmila had expressed dissatisfaction that not a single person turned up to show support to her.
Among those who turned up at the Court today included the elder brother of Sharmila.
