Senapati DC launches school Eco-clubs

The closing ceremony of the National Sanitation (cleanliness) campaign under Swachh Bharat Mission (GRAMIN) held from September 25 to October 9 under the aegis of Senapati district water and sanitation committee, Manipur was held at Senapati DHQs multi-purpose hall today, our correspondent reports.
About 500 students, DLOs, and village authorities from around the DHQs participated in the closing ceremony.
Deputy Commissioner Jacinta Lazarus, IAS, ADC CEO Rang Peter, MCS, Dr Loli Mao, CMO, Senapati, and Executive Engineer of PHED, and Khai Leo, member secretary District Monitoring and Implementing Agency, Senapati School Eco-Clubs graced the closing event as presidium members.
During the ceremony, Jacinta Lazarus handed out work orders for Individual Household Latrine (IHL) for 7 villages including Rikhumai VWSC, Viewland VWSC, River colony VWSC, Church road colony, Monday Bazaar VWSC, Zaikarii colony VWSC, and Yapoa VWSC.
The DC also handed over prizes of the various competitions organized by the PHED during the observation.
The DC also launched school eco-clubs later during the event today.
The idea of forming eco clubs was an inspiration from Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Senapati, the DC acknowledged.
