Senapati, November 09 2015:
By announcing the digitization of all certificates Senapati district has become the first district in Manipur to issue certificates digitally.
The digitized certificates are issued from the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
According to Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus, the digitalization process has been taken up to ensure that the public get their certificates from the office with minimal fuss and on the same day as far as possible.
This initiative is in accordance with the Government of India's policy of Digital India where Government services are to be made available to the general public electronically, she added.
"Every certificate issued from the digital programme of our district will have a unique ID number imprinted on it.
This number will help in easy verification of all certificates issued henceforth," she informed.
Inaugurating the much awaited system, the DC credited the hard labor of George Mathew Mao, IAAS who successfully completed the programming of the software under the guidance of Pawan Yadav, IAS- Assistant Commissioner.
In the presence of all SDOs, officials and certificate section officials, the new system was introduced to the public today.
The new digitalization process will minimize manual efforts and unnecessary problems of issuing the same certificates under the same names for different purposes.
With the digitized ID number, a student can avail the Tribe, Income and Domicile certificates easily during office hour in short period.
An applicant has to apply for certificates in a prescribed format along with the required document at the Certificate Counter.
The applicant will be given a receipt as a token for submission of their forms.
This form will be processed by the computer operators and after verification the certificate will be issued on production of receipt by applicant.
In case of reissue of the certificate within the same year, anyone quoting the unique ID number or producing a photostat copy of a digitally issued certificate will be issued a new certificate without the need of any further documents, within a minimum amount of time.
All certificates issued will be stored on secure computer services thereby making them immune to hazards.
This initiative will further be extended to sub-divisional office in the next few months.
Moreover, the process is on to enable the public to apply and obtain certificates from CSC's.The district administration has appealed to the public to co-operate with the initiative in order to make it a success.
