New cases dip to 62 New high of 4 deaths in days reported

Imphal, February 19 2022:
In a new low, 62 persons tested positive in the last 24 hours while in a new high in days, the virus claimed 4 more lives in the last 24 hours.
The lowest new cases recorded so far in 2022 has been the 19 cases recorded on January 1.On January 5, Manipur also recorded 27 cases.
The last time Manipur witnessed more than 4 deaths this year was February 8, when 6 deaths were recorded.
In yet another low, after days, the daily positivity rate dipped below the 5 percent mark to come to rest at 4.2 percent.
The 62 cases were detected out of a total sample of 1490 tested in the last 24 hours.
In a statement issued to the press today, the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee said that 4 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
The deceased persons were from Imphal West, Bishnupur, Kakching and Tamenglong.
Out of the four deceased one of them had received the first dose of the vaccine while the other three were not vaccinated at all, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
And three of them had co-morbidities.
With the addition of four more deaths, the cumulative figure of people claimed by the virus has gone up to 2096 .
The 62 new cases were detected while testing at RIMS (4), JNIMS (6) and other testing centres (52) .
All the 62 new cases are from the general population and they are from Imphal East (9), Imphal West (21), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (3), Kamjong (1), Kangpokpi (4), Tamenglong (2), Tengnoupal (2), Ukhrul (2), Senapati (5), Chandel (2) and Churachandpur (2) .
The cumulative figure of positive cases in the State is now 1,36,384 including 5001 Central security personnel and the number of active cases is 683 .
Altogether 62 persons were also discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (42), JNIMS (7) and CCCs (13).The total number of people discharged is now 1,33,605 inclusive of 4967 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 97.96 percent.
On February 18, 5622 Covid vaccine doses were administered and the total number of dose administered is now 26,61,272 including 11,10,416 second dose.
A total of 54615 precautionary dose has also been administered.
Till date 47.43 of the eligible population have taken the second dose of the vaccine while 60.56 have availed the first dose.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 231 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 61 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
At RIMS out of 190 Covid beds available, 122 are vacant while at JNIMS it is 262 out of 300 beds available.
