72 new cases added; TPR at 4.1 pc

Imphal, January 10 2022:
72 individuals including 15 from CAPF were found positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours while no Covid related fatalities were reported in the State.
The State currently has 438 active cases.
Positive Cases
The 57 cases from the general population were reported from Imphal East (10), Imphal West (36), Thoubal (3), Kamjong (1), Tamenglong (2), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (2) and Churachandpur (1) .
All necessary precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, said a press release by Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the State is 1,26,228 (1,21,732 general population and 4,496 CAPF personnel) .
Positivity Rate
As the 72 cases were detected out of 1741 samples tested at various testing centres across the State, the daily positivity rate has further increased to 4.1 percent against 3.6 percent yesterday.
This is the third straight day in which the daily positive rate has shown an upward trend.
Kamjong (1 case out of 11 samples) and Noney (2 cases out of 22 samples) reported the highest daily positive rate of 9.1 percent amongst the districts.
Tamenglong (8.7 percent) and Imphal West (6.4 percent) were other districts reporting a daily positive rate above 5 percent.
Recovery
12 individuals were discharged from home isolation (5), RIMS (1), and CCCs (6) today.
As 91 individuals were reported as discharged only today, the number of discharges today has been tallied as 103 .
The recovery rate now stands at 98.06 percent.
Vaccination
928 doses of Covid vaccines were administered on Jan 9.With these the cumulative doses that have been administered till yesterday is 23,49,134 including 13,41,185 first doses and 10,07,949 second doses.
Till yesterday the State had inoculated 57.06 percent of the eligible population with the first dose while 43.06 percent of the eligible population had received the second dose.
Kangpokpi with 13.23 percent, Ukhrul with 18.66 percent and Kamjong with 22.74 percent second dose vaccination are the worst performing districts while Jiribam (59.15 percent), Imphal West 58.39) and Imphal East (53.87 percent) continued to be the top districts in administering second doses.
With 74.03 percent of eligible population vaccinated with 1st dose, Kakching district is the top performing district in administering 1st dose of Covid vaccine.
