Manipur crowned Thang-Ta champions at KIYG

Imphal, January 31 2024: Manipur were crowned Thang-Ta champions (U-18) in the 6th Khelo India Youth Games at PSG Medical College Stadium, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on Tuesday (January 30, 2024) .

The state U-18 boys and girls combined claimed seven medals, including two gold, to emerge as the team champions.

The boys' team ended their campaign with one gold and two silver medals while the girls secured one gold, two silver and one bronze.

In the boys' competition, K Sanand Singh clinched the gold medal in the phuna ama (-60kg category), while M Sanatomba Singh (phunaba ama -56kg) and T Srinivas Singh (phunaba anishuba -56kg) settled for silver medals.

The girls' event saw Bembem Maisnam secure the gold medal in the phunaba anishuba (-52kg), A Dhanapati (phunaba ama -52kg) and S Malamnganbi (phunaba anishuba -56kg) earned silver medals, and M Roniya Devi (phunaba ama 52kg) bagged bronze for Manipur.
