JNIMS treating conflict-affected: Director

JNIMS director professor L Deben has stated that the lone medical institute of the state government will continue to treat all those affected by the on-going violence.
Prof Deben was speaking newspersons on the sidelines of interacting with a conflict-affected patient who delivered her first baby boy at the Gynae Ward of JNIMS free of cost under a government scheme.
Prof Deben recounted that the hospital came across a news broadcast of the patient's family, stating that the woman could not deliver at PHC Wangoo due to absence of a gynaecologist: As sjich, a medical team from JNIMS was despatched to Wangoo, which then brought the woman in advanced stage of pregnancy to the hospital in an ambulance on Sunday.
After detailed consultation with the doctors, the woman underwent Caesarean section (C-section) and gave birth to a baby boy.
Appealing to the people to support the hospital in providing assistance to poor patients in need, Prof Deben further appealed to all concerned to contact the hospital authority with regard to treatment of all those directly affected by the prevailing conflict.
Meanwhile, the mother of the new mother appreciated JNIMS authority for timely treatment of her daughter and baby grandson.
