Imphal, January 31 2024:
Republican Party of India (Athawale) national secretary Maheshwar Thounaojam on Wednesday met the bereaved families of Nongthombam Michael and Meisnam Ibomcha (Khaba) of Palace Compound and Sagoltongba respectively, who were killed by armed Kukis on Tuesday.
Speaking on the sidelines, Maheswar cautioned that Kuki illegal immigrants and Kuki terrorists, who are no worse than animals, are on a killing spree reminiscent of barbarism of the past.
He then said that if we do not unite and rectify our mistakes now, it would be difficult for the future generations to survive.
As such, political parties need to keep aside their ideological differences and interests, and instead work together to foster unity and strength, and take concrete action.
Questioning when would be the right time to act if not now, he urged politicians to stop being mere spectators.
He further questioned how long we are supposed to watch people continue to die day-by-day.
