Public convention deliberates on role of young women in line with prevailing crisis

Young women of Kakching and Thoubal districts have resolved to come together and strive collectively to help in overcoming the prevailing crisis in the State.
The above resolution was taken during a public convention held today at Model High School ground in Kakching Sumak Leikai attended by a large number of young women residing in Kakching and Thoubal districts.
The convention which was held with the support from Thoubal amasung Kakching District Apunba Lup (TAKDAL) and Langsai Thouna, Kakching, deliberated on the roles to be assumed by the young women of both the districts and paths to follow in connection with the prevailing conflict situation in the State.
TAKDAL advisor Samurailatpam Tamphamani and vice convenor of the Ad Hoc committee of the young women, Sophia Khundongbam graced as the presidium members.
Leaders of various women organizations of Kakching and Thoubal districts also attended the convention.
The speakers of the convention stressed on the need of building a unified identity and to work in collaboration to safeguard the integrity of Manipur by fighting against all the forces which have been trying to disintegrate the State.
Stating that innocent civilians have been adversely affected by the communal violence in the State which first broke out on May 3 last year, the speakers maintained that it is high time to work in coordination and in a strategic way to battle the ongoing crisis setting aside all forms of differences.
The young ladies of both the districts also decided to form an apex body of different localities to streamline their future course of actions.
They further resolved to urge the Central and State Government to end the communal crisis in Manipur and pave the way for restoration of peace and normalcy in the larger interest of all sections of the people.
In view of the immense difficulties faced by the innocent civilians, the young women pledged to extend all possible support from their end and aid in economic development focusing on enhancing earning skills.
