Imphal, June 14 2023:
While advising the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) in Mizoram to withdraw their support to the demand raised for separate administration of the Kuki-Zo people in Manipur within three days, All Assam Manipuri Youths' Association (AAMYA) cautioned that it will take resource of action that might affect the whole of Mizoram's topography never witnessed before.
In a release, AAMYA appreciated the humanitarian supply of foods from Mizoram to Churachandpur and appealed to Mizoram to play the role of an effective peace broker rather than mischievous guardian of Kuki instigating bloodshed and chaos.
The demand for separate administration is a part of Kukiland agenda for ultimate separation from India, AAMYA claimed, if Mizoram ignores the appeal then it is likely that the Meitei-Kuki enmity will persist and unwanted incidents continue.
As such a scenario will exact heavy toll on both sides, it is hoped the Mizoram CM will shoulder the responsibility for ending the violence rather than abetting the communal strife, it stressed.
