Imphal, June 14 2023:
Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL) has questioned the failure of the BJP Government to take any action against the MLAs/Ministers demanding separate administration and added that the BJP should consider the aspirations of the people and clarify its stance on the matter.
In a release, KKL asserted that the BJP should announce its stance & actions taken against the 7 BJP MLAs/Ministers demanding separate administration and threatening the integrity of Manipur before June 18, 2023 to the public.
Pointing out that the people of Manipur are facing scarcity of foods, essential items and life saving drugs due to the month-long blockade imposed on National Highways, KKL also urged the Government to consider the suffering of the people and make a concerted effort to lift the blockade.
The Lup also urged all the public leaders to work sincerely for the welfare of the public and not for political gains especially during these difficult times.
Questioning the silence of MLAs/Ministers belonging to the Meetei community even after 40 days since the conflict began on May 3, KKL asserted that the MLAs/Ministers should stop being a mute spectator and meet Central leaders in Delhi to bring an end to the violence in Manipur at the earliest.
KKL further urged the Double Engine Government of BJP to initiate necessary measures to restore normalcy in Manipur and take up the present issue in the Indian Parliament.
