Imphal, June 14 2023:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCO-MI) has said that all sacrifices made by civilian volunteers while fighting against the narco-terrorists will not go in vain.
In a statement signed by its media coordinator Somo-rendro Thokchom, COCOMI extended condolences to the bereaved family members of the nine civilian volunteers who were killed by Kuki militants at Khamenlok areas last night and prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace.
The Committee said that it is of no use to fight the narco- terrorists in anger.
"We have to be more determined and expose all the power instigating the crisis in Manipur first and use our State forces under the existing law of the land ," COCOMI said and added they will not back down at any cost until and unless the narco-terrorists are rooted out completely.
It then appealed to all volunteers to work in a coordinated and tactical method with proper chain of commands to handle every situation.
On the other hand, COCOMI asked why the Indian Government is still not taking up any concrete action when the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists have killed several Meitei civilians.
Does the Centre even take Meiteis as bonafide citizens of the country, it asked.
Why is the Centre not launching any effective operation to suppress the narco-terrorists, COCOMI further asked and questioned whether the Government of India has been conspiring with these narco- terrorists to wipe out the Meetei society.
Further claiming that these well armed narco-terrorists don't even spare women, COCOMI asserted that these terrorists will surely be defeated by the people one day.
It, however, is crucial for the people to be attentive and work under a command of a particular leader to prevent casualty while guarding their villages, COCOMI said and added that a collective effort of all women organisations, civil society organisations, local leaders and the people is needed to defeat the common foe.
COCOMI said that they will also be in the forefront to defeat the narco-terrorists.
The Committee also said that the people might demand complete withdrawal of Central security forces from Manipur and take up strong actions against the BJP Government if the situation aggravates.
