Bishnupur, October 10 2026: Meitei Society Churachandpur secretary Ningthoujam Ramesh has urged the Government and elected leaders to facilitate rehabilitation of internally displaced persons by the end of 2026 .

He was speaking at the sidelines of Langban Heitha Leithaba ritual to.

pay tributes to the martyrs of the Manipur conflict and ancestors of the IDPs at Loktak Inland Water Transport Complex Sendra organised by the Meetei Society Churachandpur.

Highlighting the plights of the IDPs who have been severely affected by the ongoing crisis, he sought the attention of the Government, the Ministers and MLAs to take up immediate measures for the resettlement of IDPs before 2026 ends ensuring safety and protection enabling them to lead a life of normalcy.

He further urged all concerned to expedite process of restoration of peace and normalcy in crisis stricken Manipur.
