YWC beat PTRC via Super Over to reach U-16 boys cricket semis

YWC (Langthabal) defeated PTRC (Patsoi) in a Super Over to book a spot in the semifinals of the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy at Heinoupok on Sunday.
YWC elected to bat first and were all out for 118 in 25.1 overs but the side came up with a disciplined bowling attack that saw PTRC batting order struggle to score runs.
But efforts by Tamarland Pheiroijam (31), Salam Richie (36) and Stoneson (23 not Out) helped PTRC finish level on 118/10 in 28.3 overs.
In the Super Over, YWC got 6/1 in one over, with Seram Robinson scoring 4 runs off 5 balls and Kangjam Thoithoiba collecting 2 off 1 ball.
On the other hand, PTRC managed 5/2 from 4 balls to be on the losing side.
Earlier, Yumnam Chingkheinganba (25 not out), Pukhrambam Rohit Kumar (19), Kangjam Thoithoiba (14) and Sorokhaijam Dailish (12) were the main run-getters for YWC.
Kangjam Thoithoiba was the pick of YWC's bolwers, taking 3 wickets, followed by Yumnam Chingkheingan-ba who picked up 2.Serem Robinson, Yumnam Athouba, Sorokhaibam Dailish and Rickymenan Thokchom added a wicket apiece.
For PTRC, Tamarland Pheiroijam claimed 3 scalps, Stoneson and Salam Richie took 2 wickets each, and Nongdamba Chingakham and Laitonjam James chipped in with a wicket each.
Yumnam Chingkheinganba, who scored 24 runs and took 2 wickets, was adjudged as the man of the match.
