CC Meet: SU, Classic triumph, NESU held by KSC

SU and Classic FA notched up contrasting victories as KSC and NESU played out a 2-2 draw in the 63rd CC Meet on Sunday.
SU rode on Basanta's second-half goal to scrape past NISA 1-0 in the day's first match.
Both teams looked dangerous in front of the target in the first 45 minutes, with attacks and counter-attacks but neither side were able to turn their possession to their advantage, resulting in a goalless first half.
After the break, SU gained the upper hand after Basanta made his effort count 14 minutes into the second period.
Then intense battle ensued but SU were resolute in their defence as they clung on to scoop all three points.
Iliyas Khan struck twice but NESU squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with KSC.
NESU were dominant in the early stages With two goals inside 19 minutes.
It was Iliyas Khan who put NESU ahead seven minutes from kickoff and he went on to double the lead after 12 minutes.
After conceding two goals, KSC showed strength of character with relentless efforts at the other end and they were finally rewarded in the 42nd minute when Ginminthang calmly sent the ball into the net to reduce the deficit.
A see-saw battle continued in the second half as the squads fought back and forth as goals proved elusive and when it looked as though NESU were on for a narrow win, KSC finally had their way with Ginkholen firing home the equaliser in the 90th minute.
Classic FA, meanwhile, ran riot against AIM, racking up four goals in a one-sided affair.
The first goal didn't come easy as the Classic squad toiled for entire 45 minutes before they finally broke AIM's resistance in first-half injury time with Serto Worneilen Kom scoring the opener.
Then Chinkhosiam Doungel made it 2-0 in the 65th minute as Ganningam Malangmei tripled the lead in the 82nd minute before S Robert Singh closed out the
game with an 88th-minute strike.
