RPI-A, JD-U candidates hoist flag

The flag hoisting ceremony of Oinam AC Republican Party of India-Athawale (RPI-A) candidate L Brojen was organised at his Keinou Thongthak residence on Sunday.
The ceremony was attended by RPI-A Election Committee observer and chairman Vinod Nikalkje as chief guest and Oinam Kendra Election Committee RPI-A president Irom Gandhi Singh as functional president while RPI-A Manipur State Women's Wing president Laishram Soma Devi and Oinam Kendra Election Committee RPI-A working president Leishangthem Sharat Meitei were present as guests of honour.
In his speech, L Brojen, who is also the party's state secretary, urged the people to make the old political circle aware that money cannot buy votes.
He then assured of improving the health care facilities, education, water supply and roads in the constituency, while further assuring of implementing the various government welfare schemes so as to ensure development of the constituency.
The flag hoisting ceremony of Khurai AC JD(U) candidate Toijam Lokendro was also held on Sunday at his Kongpal Ningthoubung Leikai residence.
Speaking on the occasion, Toijam Lokendro declared that he is contesting the polls to break the walls between the people and the elected representatives of the constituency, which has been growing for the last 15 years.
He then expressed belief that the people of Khurai would vote for him, with a margin of over 10,000 higher than that of his closest competitor.
Lokendro then assured of providing safe drinking water to every household in the constituency, while conveying that he is forever indebted to all those who attended the ceremony to support him.
