N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : YWC (L) beat PTRC in super over thriller to enter semifinals

YWC, Langthabal overcame PTRC, Patsoi in a super over thriller after a 118 run tie to progress into semi-finals of the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys' Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2021-22 .
After winning the toss here at Heinoupok ground today, YWC bundled out for 118 runs in 25.1 overs but held their nerves to hold PTRC to 118 runs all out in 28.3 overs to extend the game to super over.
YWC managed 6 runs for 1 in the super over courtesy Seram Robinson's 4 and Kangjam Thoithoiba's 2 and held PTRC to 5 runs for 2 in 4 balls to seal the victory as Alberth Sorokhaibam bowled out Nongdamba for 5 and Tamarland Pheiroijam was run out on duck.

In the earlier innings, Yumnam Chingkhei Nganba topscored for YWC with 25 runs (not out) off 68 balls followed by Pukhrambam Rohit Khuman (19), Kangjam Thoiba (14) and Sorokhaibam Dailish (12) .
The innings saw Tamarland Pheiroijam of PTRC scalp thrice for 10 runs in 5.1 overs as Stoneson (2/21) and Salam Richie (2/31) claimed two wickets apiece.
Nongdamba Chingakham and Laitonjam James also picked a wicket apiece to give PTRC hope of making it to the semis.
In reply, PTRC had a shocking start losing Lann Naorem on lbw duck to Seram Robinson and were reduced to 5-39 within 9.5 overs despite Salam Richies' knock of 26 runs.
Tamarland (31) and Stoneson (23 not out) then anchored well to help PTRC post 118 runs for 10 in 28.3 overs before the super over slump as Kangjam Thoithoiba swept the tailenders to finish with 3/10 in 3 overs.
Chingkhei Yumnam also bagged two wickets for 17 runs in 5 overs as Yumnam Athouba (1/11), Sorokhaibam Dailish Singh (1/25) and Rickymenan Thokchom (1/9) too found their names on the scoresheet.
Chingkhei of YWC who made the most runs and scalped twice was eventually named man of the match.
YPHU will play AKSDO in the 3rd quarter final match tomorrow.
