District level youth convention held

Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Chandel and Japhou Youth Club on Saturday jointly organised a District level Youth Convention cum Career Guidance programme at Japhou Youth Club Hall.
The youth convention was graced by Michael Thangminlien Mate, District Youth Officer (DYO); K Khupneiril Aimol, B tech (NIT-Suratkal); Ng Rameson Monsang, former DYO NYK Chandel; Somie Wanglar, president Japhou Youth Club; Ng Salim Peter, president Monsang Pantha Youth & Cultural Club and Suwarna Singh, programme leader Piramal Foundation Chandel.
The convention began with a welcome address by Somie Wanglar, said a release issued by NYK Chandel.
Speaking on the occasion, Ng Rameson Monsang stated that the objectives of District Youth Convention is to provide a platform for youth leaders to express their opinions and suggestions for youth empowerment and to orient the youth on schemes & programmes related to youth development.
He also highlighted the programmes and schemes under Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and Department of Youth Affairs.
Michael Mate extensively spoke about how to prepare oneself for various competitive examinations and the importance of self-preparation from a young age.
K Khupneiril Aimol stressed on various ways and means to prepare for examinations like SCC, Banking and how to crack JEE & NEET to become a doctor/engineer.
A Neighbourhood Youth Parliament was also organised at Charangching Khullen village under NYK Chandel on Digital Facilitation of Bank Mitras, Catch the rain campaign etc.
Moreover, in continuation of the convention, NYK Chandel also conducted an orientation session on Atma Nirbhar Bharat and catch the rain campaign at Monsang Pantha Community Hall.
It was attended by Ng Rameson Monsang; Francis Kingdom, Research Scholar IIT Madras and Ng Salim Peter as resources persons.
The programme culminated with a vote of thanks by NYK Chandel volunteers.
