Imphal, February 13 2022:
Former BJP candidate of Nungba AC Adim Pamei has extended his support to BJP candidate Dipu Gangmei.
Announcing this during a press meet held at Mantripukhri on Sunday, Adim said that after he failed to get the party ticket, he initially thought of contesting as an independent candidate.
But after the central leaders of the party advised him against contesting the polls, he decided to extend support to Dipu Gangmei.
However, this does not mean he is stepping away from politics, the former candidate said; adding that further decisions would be announced to the public after the new government is formed.
Recounting that he has been Working for the party from the grassroots level even before the presence of any candidate, Adim stated that he has always tried to assist in strengthening the party.
In the last Outer Lok Sabha election, although the party leaders told him to make preparations for contesting the polls, he was not given the ticket.
The same was advised for the ensuing polls and as such, he tried his level best to become the party's candidate for Nungba, but was again denied the party ticket.
"I am not upset with the party's decision and I urge the people not be upset with the party either," he appealed.
Adim then said that even if he is not contesting the polls, he will try to work hard for the development of the constituency, and especially for the Zeliangrong community.
