Imphal, February 13 2022:
State Platform of Disable People's Organisation, Manipur (SPDPO) and Disabled Development Association Manipur (DDAM) would be organising a programme to get an insight on views and opinions of candidates regarding the condition of people with disabilities (PwDs) or differently abled people in the state on February 17 at Manipur Press Club.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Sunday, DDAM advisor KIran Yendrembam informed that the differently abled people are also a part of the society.
It is important to know the opinions and views of political parties and candidates about the differently abled people.
As such, the programme is being planned, he continued, while urging political parties and candidates to participate in the programme.
SPDPO chief advisor Sapam Jasobanta said that election manifestos of several political parties have been released.
However, none of the manifestos have anything for the differently abled people, he lamented.
Pointing out that many political parties and leaders voiced for bringing an egalitarian society, Jasobanta' said that such a society could not be possible by neglecting the differently abled people.
