Manipur romp to fourth win, Nagaland prevail

Manipur Sangais re corded their fourth win in style with a 7-0 thrashing of Tripura Pythons while Nagaland Wild Hogs claimed a 2-1 win over Arunachal Pradesh Tigers in Friday's fixtures of the 1st North East Women's Football League 2022.Y Kiranbala and A Roja scored a double each in Manipur's emphatic victory against their Tripuri opponents at SAI Sports Complex, Takyel.
Kiranbala set the tone for the rout with a 9th-minute opener and I Prameshwori doubled the lead in the 15th minute before S Rinaroy upped the scoring in the 28th minute after finding the back of the net.
After going 3-0 ahead inside 28 minutes, the home team added two goals before the end of the first period.
Kiranbal collected her second and team's fourth goal in the 31st minute and A Roja made it 5-0 in the second minute of first-half added time.
Roja then put the Sangais 6-0 up after scoring her second goal in the 77th minute before Y Priyanka converted to make sure Manipur ran out easy 7-0 winners.
Earlier, Nagaland claimed two early goals to secure a 2-1 triumph over Arunachal Pradesh.
Nirmala put the Wild Hogs ahead just five minutes into the game and M Paundo doubled their advantage in a one-minute span.
Arunachal fought hard and managed to halve the deficit via a penalty kick by Y Lali in the 51st minute but the Tigers failed to mount successful attacks in the ensuing minutes of see-saw battle and lost out to Nagaland.
On Saturday, Meghalaya Leopards will square off against Mizoram Black Bears as Assam Rhinos face Sikkim Pandas.
