Model outclass CRAU in Elite cricket

Model (Singjamei) defeated CRAU (Khamnam Bazar) by a huge margin of 89 runs in a Group A meeting of the 6th MNCA Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Electing to bat, Model posted a competitive total of 206/9 in the stipulated 40 overs.
The Singjamei squad's innings saw Thoudam Deepak Singh take centre stage with 64 as Wahengbam Somorjit Singh did his part with an unbeaten 35.Kisan Wahengbam (20), Ronald Ningombam (19), Yumnam Karnajit (13), Dibak Naorem (11), Langlonyamba Singh (10), Somorjit Salam (9) and Thangjam Rishi (5) were other run-getters.
In the innings, Model's batters proved vulnerable to Lamabam Ajay Singh's bowling spell, losing four of then-wickets to the CRAU pacer.
His teammates Mehtab Jamal and Khumanthem Prakash claimed two wickets each and Heishnam Joyhenba took one.
CRAU faltered in their run chase and could only muster 117 after being bundled out in 34.4 overs.
Sanatomba (28), Takhellambam Ronil (25) and Ayekpam Uttam (15) were the main run-getters for the Singjamei side.
Men of the match, Somorjit Salam was the chief destroyer for Model with a haul of 4 wickets from his 8 overs while Thangjam Rishi and Dibak Naorem snapped two wickets each, with Wahengbam Somorjit chipping in with one to help their team seal comprehensive win.
TRAU and FORCE will clash on Saturday, July 16 .
