Hojai Meeteis visit sacred places, offer tributes

A Meetei delegation from Hojai district, Assam is visiting several sacred religious sites to offer prayer and pay floral tributes to the patriots of Manipur at their memorial sites.
A statement issued by AMUCO publicity secretary L Krishnachandra Khuman informed that like in the past, AMUCO's Rajen Leishangthem and AMAWOVA president Yumkhaibam Kunjarani are guiding the delegation.
The delegation had visited various historical and religious sites such as Kangla, Moirang Thangjing, Thanga Karang, sacred sites of Khuman Apokpa & Apokpi, Mongbahanba (Mahabali), Ramji Prabhu, Govinda temple, Puruk-soubi located at Kongba Takhok Mapal and several important places around Loktak Lake, Kainya Govinda at Yairipok Poirou Khongjil, Panam Ningthou Meihoubi of Andro, MMRC Unity Park Khangabok, where statues of Maichou Taret are being erected, and Khongjom War Memorial Complex.
BJYM president Barish Sharma also felicitated the delegation and hosted a feast at Shree Shree Govindaji Temple.
As per their request, AMUCO and AMAWOVA as well as Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur are making preparations for presenting a Shumang Leela play at Khuman Maheikol, Mayang Imphal where a felicitation programme will also be organised, the statement informed, while urging the public for their cooperation to the delegation.
