Workshop on Silk Samagra-2 organised

Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles member secretary and CEO Rajit Ranjan Okhandiar has stated that if the people of the state, especially the beneficiaries were to wholly focus and work on Sericulture, Manipur would become more recognised with regard to silk products.
A State Level Workshop on Silk Samagra-2 was organised by the Department of Sericulture at Hotel Classic Grande, Chingmeirong here on Friday.
Speaking as chief guest of the event, Rajit Ranjan pointed out that Manipur has great potential and scope for development in silk sector.
If properly utilised and managed, it could help solve the unemployment problems in the state, not to mention of increasing the source of income for all concerned.
Thus, the-people especially the beneficiaries of this sector need to sincerely work hard to help usher in more development, he said, while adding that the state level workshop was organised with the aim of helping to realise this objective.
The workshop was also attended by Sericulture secretary Dr Shailesh Kumar Chourasia and NE State Nodal Officer Dr VK Rahmathulla, among other officials.
