KSO Twibul Lhang Chilchep Sports Meet begins

Former minister and veteran politician Ngamthang Haokip kicked off KSO Twibul Lhang 1st Inter Village Youth Club (Chilchep) Sports Meet, 2022 at L Phaijang village, Kangpokpi district on Tuesday.
The grand opening ceremony of the sports meet was graced by the former minister as chief guest while former executive member of ADC Sadar Hills S Dama Vaiphei and KSO Sadar Hills president Satminthang Kipgen attended as guest of honour and functional president respectively.
Ngamthang Haokip hoisted the sports meet flag to mark its inauguration while an oath-taking by the participating teams and handing over of the sports meet fixtures was conducted by the KSO Twibul Lhang president Laljangam Hangshing.
All youth clubs within the jurisdiction of KSO Twibul Lhang (Kangchup and Leimakhong) took part in the sports meet.
Chief guest Ngamthang Haokip while addressing the gathering encouraged the youth of Twibul Lhang to take sports very seriously and professionally as sports have played a key role in shaping society in a very positive way.
He also said that sports can prevent youths from indulging in drugs and other anti-social activities as discipline is the most important characteristic that sportspersons should possess to become successful.
The veteran politician also encouraged parents, CSOs leaders and village chiefs to support the youths in the field of sports.
Former ADC Sadar Hills executive member S Dama Vaiphei appreciated the vital role played by the KSO in society and urged the people to render full support and cooperation tothe student body.
Leimakhong Police Station officer-in-charge, inspector Paongailian Khaute and various CSOs leaders of the area also attended the function as special guests.
The sports meet will witness various sports items.
