ICOP on AKAM held in Bishnupur district

Imphal, October 18 2022:
A one day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), 8 Saal Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan was organised by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Imphal at CI College for Bishnupur district on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, CBC, Imphal cultural in-charge GA Ghanapriya Devi outlined the objectives of observing AKAM while resource persons namely CI College History assistant professor Dr Sanjoy Ahanthem elaborated on 'Indi an Freedom Struggle from 1857 till 1947' and assistant professor (economics) Kh Dwijendro Singh highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojna scheme and also explained in detail the services it provided in the last 8 years especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the functional president, CI College principal Prof Dr M Mangi Singh recalled various forms of exploitation and discrimination meted out to Indians and Manipuris by the British during colonial period.
He then urged the audience to imbibe the spirit of nationalism and patriotism and reminded about contributions of unsung heroes of Indian freedom strug gle from Manipur namely, Pukhrambam Kajao and Hijam Irabot among others.
Later, an Azadi Quest quiz contest was organised and prizes distributed to the winners.
Private Registered Troupe (PRT) of CBC, RO, Imphal namely M/S Youth Cultural Artiste & Craft Association, Singjamei presented a theme based drama, informed a CBC release, adding that all teaching faculties, staff and office bearers of students' union of the college also attended the ICOP.
