42nd State Level Students' Science Seminar held

Education (S) Director, L Nandakumar Singh has maintained that the students of the country should come up with sustainable development measures while expressing concern on the depleting global fuel resources.
He made the above statement while speaking at the 42nd State Level Students' Science Seminar held at MSFDS hall, Palace Compound under the theme "Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development: Challenges & Prospects" .
The seminar was organised by the Department of Education (S), Manipur Government under the aegis of National Council of Science Museum, New Delhi.

He further maintained that the future of the country lies in the hands of the students since they constitute 20 percent of the population and India is among those countries with the highest number of students.
He went on to inform that 'the global crude oil, liquid hydrogen, bio fuel will be exhausted by 2050 as per the International Energy Outlook published by US Energy Information Administration' .
In view of the alarming rate of depletion of fuel resources, coal and natural gas which is expected to be exhausted by this century, he appealed to the students to work earnestly for sustainable development measures. The Director while encouraging the participating students extended best wishes to them to make the the State proud at the National level.
The seminar was attended by 15 students selected from district level.
Kh Manganba Meitei of Mother's Pride Academy, Bishnupur district secured the first position and will be representing the State in the upcoming National Level Students' Science Seminar 2022 to be held at Kolkata in November.
The second position was secured by Raj Thoudam of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Churachandpur district and consolation prizes were presented to 15 students.
