Fawn rescued

People For Animals (PFA), Manipur has rescued an injured hog deer fawn and handed it over to the Iroishemba Zoological Garden after treatment.
The hog deer (Kharsa) was first handed over to PFA by one Leitanthem Kanaba of Mayang Imphal Charoibung, said PFA in a statement.
L Kanaba had come across the fawn when he went to cut grass at his farm at Phiranbung on October 16.When he rescued the fawn, he found its left foreleg injured.
After he handed over the fawn to the PFA, it was taken to the State Veterinary Hospital at Sanjenthong for treatment.
After taking X-ray, veterinary surgeon Dr Upendro, under supervision of MS Dr Priyokumar, treated the fractured leg and applied plaster to save it.
As the injury would take time to heal, the fawn was handed over to the Iroishemba Zoological Garden, said PFA.
Meanwhile, PFA has also rescued a python from Konchak, Mayang Imphal.
It has been released into its natural habitat at Langol Reserved Forest area in the presence of Iroishemba Beat Officer Laishram Somorjit Singh, added PFA.
