Bishnupur student to attend national science seminar

Mother s Pride Academy, Bishnupur student Khomdram Manganba Meetei will attend National Level Students' Science Seminar-2022 to be organised by National Council of Science Museum (NCSM), Ministry of Culture in Science City, Kolkata on November 3.Manganba Meetei has been selected to attend the Seminar after winning the 42nd State Level Students' Science Seminar-2022 organised by Department of Education (S) at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) on Tuesday.
The seminar held on the topic Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development: Challenges & prospects' was participated by 15 students selected from different districts.
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Churachandpur student Raj Thoudam won second prize, while the remaining 13 students were presented consolation prizes.
Later, a prize distribution function attended by Department of Education (S) director L Nandakumar, additional director (Valley) Bisheshwar Khumukcham and Education (S) additional director (Hills) Alfred Jamlallun Khaute as presidium members was held.
Speaking at the function, L Nandakumar highlighted that the world is now focusing on sustainable development upon realising the harmful effects of short time satisfaction.
So, students have a key role to play in bringing sustainable development.
Pointing out that 20 per cent of population of the country are students, he said that future of India depends on the students.
So, there is the need to make the students aware about sustainable development from an early stage, he stressed.
