MoS Dr Subash scans central schemes in CCpur

Union minister of state for education Dr Subash Sarkar on Tuesday visited Churachandpur district and reviewed implementation status of various centrally-sponsored welfare and developmental schemes in the district.
In a review meeting held at the conference hall of DC's office at Tuibong in the presence of additional deputy commissioner, MoS Dr Subash held thorough discussion on the schemes with district level officers (DLOs) directly involved in implementation of the schemes.
While tabling the physical progress of the schemes, the DLOs highlighted the problems faced by them during implementation of the scheme to which the union minister urged the DLOs to make spot visits and collect first-hand accounts of the schemes by interacting with beneficiaries so that they know the ground reality.
"Do conduct spot visits once or twice a month," he said while reviewing the implementation of various schemes being implemented under the Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Churachandpur.
He also said that the officials should inspect the facilities being provided to the schools.
"Inspection should be made whether toilets in the schools are properly maintained or not and whether students are getting the benefits of the schemes properly," Dr Subash stressed and advised instructed the DLOs to upload the details of all government-run schools under his control to Vidyanjali portal so that people can know the details of the schools in their respective areas for enrolment of their wards.
He then urged the DLO to tie up with the Anganwadi centre across the district as it would be necessary for effective implementation of the new education policy (NEP 2020) .
Dr Subash also asked the ICDS officer of the district present at the meeting to tie up with the ZEO while asserting that under the new education policy, each Anganwadi will have the facilities of opening pre-nursery and other primary level classes.
While reviewing the healthcare delivery service in the district with the chief medical officer (CMO), the Union minister expressed dissatisfied over reports about shortage of manpower and absence of basic facilities at community health centres, primary health centres and primary health sub-centres in the district.
He said that these centres should have at least two doctors and facilities like ultrasound, echocardiography, ECG, etc.
Earlier, the CMO said that manpower shortage is the main hindrance in effective healthcare delivery system in the district.
The district has one CHC, seven PHCs and 58 PHSCs but operating with only 18 doctors.
The MoS also reviewed implementation Status of schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), National Food Security Act (NFSA), Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and Jal Jeevan Mission among others.
The review meeting was followed by an interaction with beneficiaries of various centrally-sponsored schemes and some first time voters of the district.
During the meeting, the beneficiaries expressed happiness and conveyed gratitude to the central government.
ADCs Thienlaljoy Gangte and S Khaikhopau Ngaihte were present in the programme.
AG to DC Zousanglur Zote and DLOs as well as officials from Medical, PHED, Education, Social Welfare, Bank and DRDA, made power-point presentation on the district profile and implementation of various developmental schemes in the district.
The minister later inspected Churachandpur Medical College.
The union minister, who arrived on Monday on a three-day state visit, will wind up his tour on Wednesday.
