Elite cricket: All-round CYCLONE brush aside SCCC by 8 wickets

All-round CYCLONE (Thangmeiband) made light work of SCCC (Singjamei) in an eight-wicket triumph in their Elite Tournament league match on Monday at the Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Electing to bat, SCCC wilted under pressure exerted by CYLONE as the Singjamei were all out for 148 in 35.2 overs.
In the innings, Laishram Ronson Singh top-scored with 43, followed by Jaali Ahmed Chisti (24), Lishan Meitei Khaidem (16), Rahul Chanda (14) and Sandeep Chakraborty (12).It was a collective bowling effort that helped CYCLONE cut short the opposition's innings and laid the foundation for their victory.
Bikash Singh, Thounaojam Jenius Singh, Aditya Das and Kishan Laishram claimed two scalps each, with Maisnam Raju Singh and Longjam Ronald Meitei accounting for one apiece for the Thangmeiband side.
In their response, CYCLONE knocked off the runs in 28 overs with eight wickets to spare.
CYCLONE'S successful run chase was set up by their opening pair of Loktongbam Santosh Meitei and Aditya Prasad.
Santosh scored a fine 70 off 70 balls and Aditya was unbeaten on 66 off 89 deliveries as Rohit Moirangthem contributed 4 (not out) .
Santosh was dismissed off Rekeshwor Republic's bowling while No 3 Lonjam Ronald got out for a duck, falling prey to Hemam Luwang Thounaojam.
Courtesy of his 70-run knock, Loktongbam Santosh earned the man of the match trophy.
