Churachandpur Bn conducts cleanliness drive

Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles organised a cleanliness drive in Hengkot village of Churachandpur district on Monday in order to promote hygiene and disease free living.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) said the cleanliness drive was not only an effort to clean the surroundings but was also an endeavour to motivate and encourage the local populace to keep their surroundings clean and litter free.
A total of 35 villagers, including students, participated in the event.
The local populace of the village voluntarily participated in the event and applauded the efforts of Assam Rifles for organising such an event.
The release also informed that the battalion conducted an interaction programme with children and staff of Lunman Veng Children Home, Churachandpur on Monday.
Led by Assam Rifles Churachandpur Sector DIG Brig Michael D'Souza, the interaction was to motivate and guide the orphans in the Area of Responsibility.
The main motive behind the interaction was to talk to children and staff and ameliorate their difficulties and guide them for their future.
He also presented sport items and distributed sweet to children, said the release.
A total of 27 individuals including children and staff of said orphanage attended the same.
Meanwhile in Phaiba village, the battalion provided emergency medical assistance to a local who sustained injury during routine work on Sunday, said the release.
Churachandpur Battalion immediately extended emergency medical assistance to the injured local and the individual is now stabilised and discharged after basic medications, it added.
