Loktak Bn conducts training, fetes Agniveers

In a bid to help the unemployed youth, bring them into mainstream and keeping in mind the major problem of unemployment, Loktak Battalion Assam Rifles of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) imparted pre-recruitment training to educated youth in the remote areas of Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the Battalion has opened a doorway in the form of pre-recruitment training to assist local youth in obtaining entry in Indian Army irj which potential youth candidates from population was identified and pre-recruitment training programme was provided which included free registration, free tutorial classes, coaching for physical tests, free medical evaluation for fitness assessment from October 25, 2022 to January 18, 2023.In addition, trainees were also prepared for written test examination by well educated training team.
The unit had identified several youths in the region having potential and given them free pre-recruitment training to polish their skills.
A total of two youths namely Haokholet Haokip residence of Mongbung village in Churachandpur district and Md Zamidur a resident of Kwakta village in Bishnupur district successfully cracked the written exam and got selected into Indian Army as Agniveer.
The selected individual will join EME Centre, Secunderabad (Telangana) and Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong by this month.
Both youths along with parents were felicitated by commandant of the Battalion at Battalion Headquarters, Kangvai.
The locals and students of various schools praised the initiative undertaken by Assam Rifles and appreciated the work done by Loktak Battalion of Assam Rifles to keep up the motto of Assam Rifles, "Friends of the NE People", added the PRO.
