32nd State Thang-Ta Championship : Thang-Ta Maheikol amass 39 medals to retain team champions title

Imphal, February 25 2022:
Defending champions Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom collected as many as 39 medals including 23 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze to claim team champions title yet again in the 32nd State Thang-Ta Championship.
Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta and Cultural Association, Moidangpok finished runners up in this State level championship organised by the Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur at Thang-Ta Shanglen, Yumnam Huidrom courtesy 120 points from 31 medals including 16 gold, 10 silver and 5 bronze.

Leishilem CM of Haokok Thang-Ta Academy, Hungpung was adjudged best disciplined girls of the championship which saw a healthy participation of 387 players from across 26 Thang-Ta institutes of 7 districts in the State.
The last day of the championship witnessed players of different age groups compete in the Thang-Haiba, Thanglon and Thanglon-Khutlon competition.
Thang-Haiba
H Shairiya Devi of Thoibi Thang-Ta, Moirang fetched Thang-Haiba gold medal in the sub-junior girls category as Velentina Naoroibam of Indigenous Manipur Martial Art (IMMAA) bagged silver and H Poireinganbi of Institute of Langol Punsiba, Iroishenba bagged bronze.
Thang-Haiba title for junior girls in the meantime went to Hanjabam Sylvia Devi of Thoibi Thang-Ta while Milky Athokpam of Indigenous Manipur Martial Art (IMMAA) settled for the silver medal.
Dijen Shagolshem of Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom snatched the senior men's Thang-Haiba gold as K Nirupama Devi of Malem Apunba Thang-Ta Maheikol (MATAM) won the senior women's gold and Kemi Athokpam won Indigenous Manipur Martial Art (IMMAA) a silver.
Thanglon
T Ningolsana of Kha Manipur Thang-Ta Academy, Pallel claimed the sub-junior girls Thanglon gold as Nevita Phairembam of Thoibi Thang-Ta, Moirang sealed the silver medal.
Meanwhile, Lucky Yumkhaibam of Thoibi Thang-Ta, Moirang won the gold medal in the Thanglon event for junior boys as N Daisy Devi of Thoibi Thang-Ta claimed the junior girls' gold.
Y Khagemba Singh of Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom on the other hand claimed the senior men's Thanglon gold.
Khonglon Khutlon
H Priyobarta of Luwang Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta, Moidangpok was able to lay his hands on the Khonglon Khutlon gold medal for sub-junior boys.
In the meantime, H Yaiphabi Devi of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta claimed the sub-junior girls title finishing ahead of M Malenganbi of Kha Manipur Thang-Ta Academy, Pallel.
The senior women's title for Khonglon Khutlon competition on the other hand went to H Bidyaluxmi of Malem Apunba Thang-Ta Maheikol (MATAM) .
