Imphal, February 25 2022:
Rashtriya Janhit Sanghash Party (RJSP) Manipur has released its election manifesto for the ensuing assembly election with nine key promises including ST status for Meetei/Meitei community.
Releasing the manifesto at the party office, Thang-meiband Polem Leikai here on Friday, RJSP state president Senjam Nandeshwar said that the party will work towards ensuring ST status for Meetei/Meitei community and to bring a regional bench of Supreme Court in the state.
Other key promises included in the manifesto are withdrawal of AFSPA from the state, setting up district units of Manipur Human Rights Commission, job creation for youth, surplus production of agriculture and horticulture products, environment protection, improving road infrastructure, setting up industries and improving tourism sector among others, he said.
Nandeshwar also expressed concern over the increasing violent incidents ahead of the election.
The party is fielding only one candidate in Heirok assembly constituency but only some VDF personnel are being provided as his security escort.
As a result, the party's candidate is facing inconveniences in carrying out poll campaign, he said, while demanding explanation from the home department for his inadequate security cover despite Heirok being a sensitive AC.
He demanded the home department to provide adequately armed security personnel as the party's candidate's escort.
