Borders sealed ahead of polls

Imphal, February 25 2022:
The inter-district, inter- state and international borders will remain sealed from Friday till March 10 to prevent infiltration of anti-social and disruptive elements so as to hold the Assembly elections on February 28 and March 5 in a peaceful manner.
A notice issued by special secretary (Home) H Gyan Prakah informed that the order is in compliance with the conveyance of Manipur Chief Electoral Officer to take measures to seal the borders by putting up check points at strategic locations, scan of lorries, light vehicles and all other vehicles to prevent infiltration of anti-social and disruptive elements.
