Imphal, February 25 2022:
The 43rd 'Independence Demand Day' of RPF was observed today at all the units, departments and stations of the party with simple functions in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The observation was marked by hoisting of party flag, paying tribute to the cadres of the party who gave their lives for the cause and reading out of RPF president Irengbam Chaoren's message to the people of Manipur, said a press release signed by Roben Khuman, deputy secretary publicity, RPF.
Roben alleged that the Indian Government has been using 'peace talks' as a weapon to subdue the revolutionary movement as seen from numerous examples including the 9 point agreement between Naga revolutionaries and the Indian Government in 1947, 16 point agreement of 1960, Shillong Accord of 1975 which are playing with the lives of Nagas.
A number of revolutionary groups of WESEA are facing a dilemma after entering into a peace talk agreement with the Indian Government as their faith lies uncertain, added the press release.
As such there is no way 'peace talks' will bring any solution to the issues in the WESEA region, Roben added in the statement.
Roben also extended wishes on the 43rd foundation day of RPF to all the indigenous people of the State.
